History of the Record:

Shelby SuperCars' Ultimate Aero, the current World's Fastest Production Car, represents the peak of automotive engineering achievement for the 21st century. On September 13, 2007, Ultimate Aero Chassis #TT-02 recorded an official average top speed of 256.18 mph by way of an 1183 hp power plant.

Ferocious and unmatched, Guinness World Records certified that the Ultimate Aero demolished the Koenigsegg CCR¹s previous official record by 11.83 mph and the Bugatti Veyron¹s unofficial record by 3.63 mph. It is the first American car to hold the record since the Ford GT40 shocked the world in 1967.

Preserved and maintained in SSC's facility in Richland, WA, Ultimate Aero Chassis #TT-02 is a rare and irreplaceable automotive milestone. Certified the actual car used to capture the world record, it is quite literally the World's Fastest Production Car. 2007 Ultimate Aero Chassis #TT-02 Overview:

Power Plant: Hand built 387.2 cid V-8 SSC Designed All-Aluminum engine with Sequential, multi-port fuel injection, Twin-Turbo Chargers and Dual Water to Air Intercoolers. The world record Ultimate Aero utilizes 8 radiators to handle the immense heat produced by the power plant. The turbo chargers are set to produce 14 psi of boost and the engine redlines at 7200rpms. This incredible power plant generates 1,183 bhp @ 6075 rpm and 1,094 ft-lbs of torque @ 6150 rpm.
